The Cult, “Peace” — In 1986, following the success of “Love,” the Cult embarked on recording the followup, an album to be titled “Peace.” Unhappy with the recordings (finally available on “Rare Cult,” btw), they instead recorded the “Electric” LP, a stripped-down Rick Rubin production with a (great!) album cover with lettering by psychedelic artist Rick Griffin. I figure if “Peace” had come out, it might have jumped on the neo-psych revival and had a cover by Victor Moscosco, his contemporary. I mean, why not, right? It can’t all be black!
