In 1968, the Byrds were contemplating making an album that would show the musical history of the entire century, from jazz to blues to country to electronic music and beyond. Instead, with the addition of Gram Parsons, they went full roots with “Sweetheart of the Rodeo.” This is the cover of that alternate universe where they made that record.
